Originally founded in 1965, Davis Bynum moved the winery to the Russian River Valley in 1973. The ranch, located on Westside Road eight miles southwest of Healdsburg in Sonoma County, includes 61 acres plus a former hop kiln which was transformed into the present day winery and tasting room. The winery and immediate grounds are nestled in the hills on the north side of the Russian River Valley. As you drive up to the winery you will experience the beauty and history of the Russian River Valley and the Davis Bynum Winery.

Our Winemaker, Gary Farrell, started at Davis Bynum in 1974. Gary consistently produces award-winning wines of unique style and balance. In 1991, Dan Berger, wine writer for the Los Angeles Times, named Gary Farrell as "Winemaker of the Year." Jerry Mead, Editor of The Wine Trader, calls Gary, "The Crown Prince of Pinot Noir." Gary and Davis Bynum Winery were named the "Top Artisan Winery of 1997" by the Wine & Spirits Buying Guide for 1998!

Davis Bynum annually crafts around 15,000 cases of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Eclipse (a blended red wine in the style of the great wines from Bordeaux), Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc (a.k.a. Fumé Blanc), and Gewürztraminer.
