As a young winemaker helping to build the reputations and quality images
of other wineries, Richard Arrowood continued to dream about having a winery of
his own. He and his wife Alis finally realized that dream in 1987 with the completion
of Arrowood Vineyards & Winery outside the town of Glen Ellen in Sonoma County.
The winemaking philosophy at
Arrowood is simple: produce classic varietal wines using grapes exclusively from
Sonoma County's diverse viticultural areas such as Russian River Valley, Alexander
and Dry Creek Valleys or Sonoma-Carneros, to name a few. Our current portfolio
includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Viognier, Pinot Blanc, Malbec,
Syrah, late harvest wines, and a few special reserve wines when conditions allow.
Plans to bottle a new Rhône blend are also in the works. Chances are, the portfolio
will grow, after all, like we say at the winery, "Dick Arrowood never met a grape
